SOREN BONDRUP-NIELSEN         

     Soren was born in Denmark but at the age of 13 his family immigrated to Canada.  After a year in Toronto they moved into the country and as a teenager Soren spent as much time as he could outdoors.

     His outdoor interests eventually led to a PhD in Zoology from the University of Alberta. Soren is currently a professor in the Biology Department at Acadia University where he teaches Ecology and Conservation Biology.  

     Winter on Diamond is his first book.  Since its publication he has co-authored with Merritt Gibson Winter Nature: Common Mammals, Birds, Trees and Shrubs of the Maritimes.  

      Due out late in 2009 is A Sound of Like Water Dripping: In Search of the Boreal Owl.
